'Fun activities to explore'
Dear Parents,
Welcome to my website. My name is Sandra. I’m a British native certified English teacher. For over 10 years I’ve been teaching English to children and adolescents in the Lausanne area.
For primary learners aged 5+ (Absolute Beginners) Children love games, which not only spark their competitive spirit but also provide an immersive environment for practising and memorising English. My mini-group classes feature a wide range of fun practice activities, for instance Scrabble, Eye-Spy, Verb Games, Match the Opposites, Puzzles, Speak and Spell and many more.
Primary learners also enjoy ‘Story Time’, a peaceful moment gathered together in ‘Library Corner’. Children can choose from a range of fictional works by classic British and American authors.
Story time is a cherished part of my classes: as a fellow lover of fiction and reading, I share my enthusiasm with them and inspire their own love and curiosity for literature.
Together we practise reading out loud, with a focus on vocabulary and sentence formation to describe illustrations and characters. I also elicit and build on children’s insights and comprehension of the story, and where necessary I can explain in French.
There is also a drawing room dedicated to creative hands-on fun activities. Primary-aged children love drawing and making things; and, as a creative person myself, I can inspire them with my origami and drawing skills. I use this opportunity to explore English through song and rhyme, develop their word and spelling skills through suitable, themed vocabulary, and build simple sentence structures through repetition and memorisation. This kind of interaction not only engages and entertains small children, but also gives them a strong sense of achievement.
For younger learners aged 8+ (A1 Level Debutant – B2 Intermediate)
Your child has started the 2nd primary cycle at public school in the Canton de Vaud region. Although English is not introduced into the school curriculum until 7th grade, as parents we understand the importance of starting early when it comes to language learning. In preparation for 7th grade I can ensure your child obtains good results in their regular TS and TA scholarly evaluations in English.
My English Masterclasses are tailored to meet the unique needs of young learners. Mini-groups ensure personalised instruction, and individual attention is given to each and every child. Lessons are planned to make language acquisition a joyful and interactive experience. I use a variety of resources and learning materials, as described above, plus student work books. Depending on the individual’s level, the aim is usually to complete two exercise pages per week from the Cambridge or Oxford English course books and practise the target language in writing and speaking.
Whether in groups or one-to-one settings, I ensure your child gets plenty of practice in reading, writing and speaking from the very first day. As the course progresses, I give regular feedback to parents, and record progress in the learner’s work book after every lesson.
(With your express permission I can even record some lessons, take pictures and send you copies.)
It’s never too early to start learning – you can give your child an advantage in later life by investing in their command of the most widely spoken international language.

A perfect teacher for my kids. High level of competence and reliability. She adapted her schedule and my kids love her. Trustable and high quality english lessons.
